Set up your school for the first time
A complete first-day checklist for school admins setting up Akshara SIP in My School Bee.
Overview
Before your team starts admissions, attendance, fees, or exams, complete the school setup in the correct order. This avoids missing students in attendance, incorrect fee structures, and users seeing the wrong modules.
Before you begin
Keep your school profile, class list, section list, department names, subject list, staff list, and fee plan ready.
Tips
- Use one current academic year as the active year.
- Create classes and sections before admitting students.
- Create staff records before assigning class teachers or subject teachers.
Setup steps
Follow this order for a clean setup.
- Log in as school admin.
- Open school settings and update the school name, code, address, contact details, and school timings.
- Open Academics and create the current academic year.
- Create departments if your school uses department-based subject or staff grouping.
- Create subjects used by the school.
- Create classes and add sections under each class.
- Add staff members and create user accounts for people who need login access.
- Assign class teachers and subject teachers where required.
- Create fee types and fee structures before generating invoices.
- Admit students into the correct academic year, class, and section.
After setup
Check one sample student, one teacher, one fee structure, and one attendance screen before inviting the full team to use the system.
Tips
- If a student does not appear in attendance, check enrollment first.
- If a teacher cannot see expected work, check role and assignments.
- If fee amounts look wrong, check fee type and structure setup.
